A defence manufacturer of IMVs and ISVs needed to ramp up production volume, but had no NPI process to support it. We designed and implemented a New Product Introduction process from the ground up across three phases, supported by infrastructure and tooling to embed it in the business.

Phase one — define

  • Interviews and workshops with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Leveraged industry experience to create a prioritised challenge roadmap

Phases two and three — develop and execute

  • Defined project deliverables including RASICs, workload estimates and variability by project
  • Built three tools to empower teams: a module-level initial BoM creation tool, a resource planning tool, and a business timing and release scheduling tool
  • Embedded the new process through SharePoint hubs, training, hyper-care and merchandise
